As we step into a new year here in Poulsbo, I always like to take a moment to look forward and also reflect on the year we just wrapped up. And if 2025 taught me anything, it is that this business always finds a way to surprise you.

Looking back on 2025, that number of fifty transactions still makes me pause. It is a lot, and every single one represented someone starting a new chapter. This work is about helping people move into the next stage of their lives. Sometimes that means opening a new business, sometimes it means closing one. Sometimes it is helping a first time buyer take that big leap or a seller confidently relocate to a new area. No matter what the situation is, I never forget that these decisions carry real meaning for the people involved.

This past year also brought some important milestones. Expanding the brokerage was a huge highlight for me. Like anything, we had wins and we had losses, but the office we have created has a genuine family atmosphere that I am proud of every day. I also wrapped up my time as Poulsbo Chamber President after two years of serving. It was a lot of work, a lot of fun, and something I hope continues to support our local businesses for years to come. Being a founding member of the Poulsbo Police Foundation has been another meaningful experience. Helping bring the community and our police department closer together is something I care deeply about.

As for the real estate outlook in 2026, there is a lot to be optimistic about. National Association of Realtors forecasts point to a more stable market with slight improvements in affordability as interest rates level out. Industry leaders like Brian Buffini and Jared James expect buyer confidence to strengthen and predict that more people will re enter the market after sitting on the sidelines. With inventory expected to climb slowly and rates finding balance, this could be the year where buyers and sellers are finally on more equal footing.

Here in Poulsbo, our market always has its own personality. People continue to come for the lifestyle, community and charm, and that steady demand helps keep our market strong even when national trends shift. I expect continued interest from those relocating to Kitsap County and steady growth in both residential and commercial opportunities. Sellers who prepare well and price realistically will do great, and buyers will appreciate having a little more breathing room than in years past.

Through all of this, my style in real estate stays the same. I am never pushy. You are the one who has to live in the home or run your business in that space, not me. No matter how long it takes you to make a decision, I am here to help.
